African Church Honours Brilliant Young Congregants At 2026 Youth Harvest

‎Outstanding student and youth in the African Church Bethel Cathedral Ikorodu, have been honoured during the 2026 Youth/Juvenile Harvest, to motivate and encourage others.

‎The special harvest service which held on Sunday, was themed, “Harvest of Divine Victory, ” with Revd Canon Joseph Fapohunda delivering the sermon.

‎While Oluwaseyifunmi Ifeoluwa Alaba, a former student of Elepe Community Senior High School, Elepe, Igbogbo, emerged as the student with the best WAEC in the Church, three others were celebrated for their exceptional performances during the Bible competition.

‎ Oluwaseyifunmi recorded 2As, 5Bs and 1C, with the Church promising to provide her with JAMB form and other educational support.

‎Princess Oluwadarasimi Aderinmola Alagbe, Princess Oluwatofunmi Aderinsola Alagbe and Master Adebambo Daniel Ogunsanya, who emerged first, second and third in the 2026 harvest Bible competition, served as One -Day Cathedral Warden, Provost Warden and Verger.

‎The Chairman, Harvest Committee, Prince Oluwaseyi Adelabu, addressing the congregation during the service lauded the academic performance of Senior Secondary School graduand, Oluwaseyifunmi Alagbe and added that her recognition by the Church is to encourage such feats among the young congregrants.

‎On behalf of the Cathedral Council of The African Church Bethel Cathedral Ikorodu, the Harvest Committee Chairman also pledged support for her in respect of her JAMB examination and further academic support.

‎He also commended the three best committee congregants in the Bible competition stressing that the Church will sustain the tradition of One – Day principal officers of the Church to encourage Bible (Study) knowledge and healthy academic competition among the youth.

‎Adelabu thanked the Church and dignitaries that gave support for the harvest thinksgiving and pleaded for further support towards the 2026 Adult Harvest.

‎Christian drama, dance, Holy Bible recitation and Bazaar sales were some of the features of this year’s harvest.

‎Among dignitaries that constituted guests of honour for this year’s Youth/Juvenile Harvest are Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Chairman, Kosofe LG, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, former NULGE Chairman, Ikorodu LG and APC chieftain, Mrs Adeolu Sheu, Surv. Damilola Ogunlolu, Mr Femi Babatunde, a businessman Hon & Mrs Tunde Awojobi, Supervisor Ikorodu LG and Pastor & Pastor Mrs Joseph Olutusin among others.
